2nd Watch Founding Partner, Brett Turner, Returns to Organization as Chief Financial Officer

Cloud Migration Experts Tap Seasoned Industry Executive to Drive Corporate Strategy and Fiscal Development

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - May 22, 2013) - 2nd Watch, Inc., a global systems integrator, and software and deployment firm focused on IT operations, today announced the appointment of Brett Turner as the company's chief financial officer. Turner helped launch 2nd Watch in October 2010, and has served as a strategic advisor and director of the company since inception. Turner transitions into the new role as chief financial officer to spearhead corporate strategy and development while supporting the company's accelerating growth.

"We're thrilled to have Brett joining us on a day-to-day basis, in a hands-on capacity," stated Kris Bliesner, 2nd Watch co-founder and CEO. "Brett has been a key member of our board of directors since day one and has provided invaluable council on company direction and management; he will now be in a position to further shape the direction of our company, and we welcome his leadership."

Turner is an experienced executive with more than 18 years' experience in executive and management positions with high-growth technology companies. Turner has honed his ability to manage corporate strategy and development, along with a track record of successes contributing significantly to fast-growth start-ups like Demand Energy, World Wide Packets and 2nd Watch.

"It's an exciting time to get more deeply engaged with the 2nd Watch team," commented Brett Turner, founding partner and chief financial officer at 2nd Watch. "The company is extremely well positioned to emerge as a leader for the enterprise IT migration to the cloud, particularly in how proficient it has become in leveraging AWS for enterprise IT."

Most recently Turner was co-founder, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Demand Energy, a pioneer and leader in distributed energy storage systems. Demand Energy is one of the first companies in the world to deploy and manage a utility-grade, end-to-end solution for commercial end-use customers that stores and generates electricity at a megawatt scale. The company's software platform resides in the cloud and leverages Amazon Web Services (AWS), an industry first for managing and controlling distributed generation infrastructure. Turner led the company from inception through product design and commercialization to early market adoption with customers while raising nearly $20 million in equity, debt and grant funding.

Prior to Demand Energy, Turner served as vice president of finance at World Wide Packets (WWP), an Ethernet switch vendor to AT&T, Comcast, CenturyLink and Clearwire, where he was responsible for raising more than $60 million in equity and debt financing. Turner understands the organizational requirements to support rapid scaling, as his team successfully supported revenue growth from $13 million to $35 million in the 12 months leading up to the sale of the company for more than $300 million to Ciena in March 2008.

Turner has also served at Amazon.com, Teledesic, and theglobe.com. Turner received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Seattle Pacific University and began his career as a CPA with Deloitte.
