The provincial launch of the AMA Youth Run Club will be held Friday, October 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Belgravia School, Edmonton. The run club initiative, founded by the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) and Ever Active Schools (EAS), is an innovative partnership to support increased physical activity among Alberta children and youth.
What you'll see:
- Belgravia students (K-6) will actively participate in an AMA Youth Run Club demo.
- AMA President Dr. Allan S. Garbutt, EAS Director Brian Torrance, local physician/parent/run club champion Dr. Kimberley Kelly will be on hand and available for comment.
The AMA Youth Run Club is a new annual program held between September and June; it already supports over 200 schools (K-12) and counting across the province to offer a comprehensive, school-based-run program. The AMA Youth Run Club gives children and youth a chance to be physically active and learn about living healthy, active lifestyles.
