AMD Honors Suppliers for Commitment and Quality of Service at 2014 Supplier Day

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - May 23, 2014) - AMD (NYSE: AMD) today recognized key suppliers for their contributions to the ongoing transformation of AMD into a diversified growth company that leverages its computing and technology leadership to achieve new paths of innovation for its customers. The companies honored demonstrated their continued commitment to AMD success through excellence in delivery of material, services, and technology.

The annual AMD Supplier Day brings together many of the company's top suppliers with the AMD senior leadership team to share insights on the company's strategies, execution, and evolving needs. At the same time, the event provides a forum for the company to celebrate and recognize the successes of the past year, many of which depend on the continued commitment of its supply base.

"In our 45 year history, successes have always been achieved with the help and the commitment of our global supply base, and Supplier Day is about recognizing just a few of the many companies that have provided exceptional levels of service to AMD in the past year," said Alex Brown, corporate vice president of Global Supply Management for AMD. "Our need for deep collaboration with our suppliers has never been greater. We are indebted to our supplier ecosystem and the role they continue to play in our transformation and success."

As in previous years, AMD used a predefined measurement process to score suppliers in the categories of Technology, Quality, Cost, Flexibility and Service.

In the area of Business Services, AT&T, Inc. and ABM were recipients of Achievement awards for driving financial value and flexibility as AMD changed management models for several of their owned properties. They both demonstrated superior collaboration and distinguished themselves in the areas of customer engagement and continuous quality improvement. AT&T, Inc., an American multinational telecommunications corporation headquartered in Dallas, Texas, provides wireline, mobility, and content delivery network services for AMD. ABM, headquartered in New York, is a provider of building maintenance and facility services.

Additionally, recognition awards were presented to Advantest Corporation, Optimal+, Shinko Electric Industries Co., Siliconware Precision Industries Co., and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (TSMC) for the key role each played in successfully ramping AMD's first semi-custom APUs.
