BerBer Social, The Sultant's Tent & Cafe Moroc Host Charity Breakfast

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 27, 2013) - Fresh Baked Butter Croissants and Classic French Toast with Lavender Scented Maple Syrup were just two of the meal choices offered during today's charity breakfast hosted by two of Toronto's top restaurants.

A breakfast club is a place where children can share a healthy breakfast with their friends and have fun at the same time. Teachers tell us that their students are less frequently absent, they're less aggressive, they concentrate better and they're more creative. In Canada, 1 in 10 Canadian children (637,000) live in poverty and are at risk of starting their day on an empty stomach. The Breakfast Clubs of Canada helps children who live in low income areas or who live in a home that doesn't offer a safe and supportive environment, with the nutrition of a healthy breakfast.

"When you see the statistics, it is staggering. We are here today at our restaurant to create awareness and encourage people to get involved," said Jennifer Perusini, Marketing and Events Manager for BerBer Social, The Sultan's Tent & Café Moroc. "All this fantastic food was uniquely created for this event, all these volunteers are here to provide full support, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Breakfast Clubs of Canada."

In January 2013, BerBer Social, The Sultan's Tent and Café Moroc succeeded in helping another charity and donated 581lbs of food to the Daily Bread Food Bank.

"We intend to select one new charity a month and do everything we can to help make a difference," said Perusini.
