SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2015) - BrainStorm, a leading Microsoft partner for end-user adoption and change management, today announced $6.4M in Series A funding led by Kickstart Seed Fund, with additional participation from Jeremy Andrus, former President and CEO at Skullcandy. The funding will be used for growth capital including sales, business development, and marketing. A portion has also been earmarked for content and software development to increase capability of its current offerings.
Founded in 1995, BrainStorm's mission is to revolutionize the way organizations use software to do more work effectively and efficiently.
"With more than twenty years of experience, we believe learning and doing can and should go together," said Eric Farr, Principal of BrainStorm. "Our goal is to not only change the way the world learns, but the way it works, and to do it in a very scalable way. We've seen millions of end users rely on our adoption and change management methodology to facilitate successful software deployments and increase short- and long-term productivity. With this funding we'll be able to improve on our already outstanding product and to expand it even further."
BrainStorm's flagship SaaS solution and "learning and doing" platform, QuickHelp™, provides various change management and engagement tools to guide end users to use software better. Some of these tools include thousands of short, actionable training clips hosted in the cloud, all of which contain searchable content complete with course lists delivered on demand. Other tools include email push and in-application notifications, assigned content, event calendaring and registration, interest groups, live webinar events, and soon-to-be-released social media integration. These tools help provide personalized paths and easy steps for individuals, groups, and companies to follow, and changes the way users embrace and use Microsoft Office 365 and other productivity tools by giving them the right bite-size content at the right time.
"BrainStorm is a valued partner and has created innovative solutions that help our mutual customers get the most out of their Office 365 experience," said Catherine Boeger, General Manager at Microsoft Corp.
BrainStorm, named to Outside's Best Places to Work for the fourth consecutive year, three times Stevie award winner (2011, 2014, and 2015), and two time Utah Businesses Best Companies, is a proven ideal workplace for employees in Utah and beyond. BrainStorm also ranked #25 nationally in Fortune's 100 Best Workplaces for Women award earlier this year.
"BrainStorm is unique among our portfolio companies. The company has evidenced a strong commitment to its customers and its products have revolutionized how companies train their employees," said Curt Roberts, Venture Partner at Kickstart Seed Fund. "We took a bold step for Kickstart in leading this investment. We are confident BrainStorm will be one of the companies that people are talking about in coming months and years."
