DEA Announces the Acquisition of EmergingSoft

New Capabilities Help Customers Implement Their Digital Workplace Strategies

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Jul 14, 2015) - Dean Evans & Associates (DEA), the leading provider of resource scheduling management software, today announced the acquisition of EmergingSoft. This acquisition underscores DEA's commitment to enhance its products to continue to meet the needs of its customers. The purchase price was not disclosed.

DEA helps organizations implement their digital workplace strategies. Resource scheduling management solutions -- including the scheduling of people, spaces, meetings and events -- are integral to a customer's complete digital workplace strategy. "Forty-six percent of enterprises polled stated they already have a Digital Workplace initiative underway," said Susan Landry, Managing VP in Gartner® Research, in the opening keynote of the recent Gartner Digital Workplace Summit. "The nature of work is changing, and today a much higher proportion is non-routine and is less predictable. This creates an imperative to enable the right people to be in the right place at the right time."

This acquisition allows DEA to offer a great user experience for people who use Microsoft® Outlook to schedule meetings and events. The EmergingSoft technology has a full-featured integration with Outlook. The technology includes a powerful search engine to make it easier to find rooms, equipment and resources; the ability to provide automatic updates and to resolve conflicts when meetings are changed or cancelled; and a natural, intuitive and easy-to-use user interface for scheduling meetings and events.

"Our customers count on us to deliver real value with our solutions," said Bob Irwin, CEO of DEA. "We're excited to welcome the EmergingSoft customers to the DEA family. We look forward to earning the EmergingSoft customers' trust and their continued business."

DEA will continue to improve and support the EmergingSoft products. EmergingSoft MeetingPlanner 6.0 will be generally released later this year. The new release will include dynamic searching and instant notification of room and resource availability, support for the latest versions of Outlook and improved performance.
