Dime Savings Bank and New York Community Bank Partner With HPD to Present a Free Seminar for NYC Multifamily Owners


BROOKLYN, NY--(Marketwired - February 19, 2016) - Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: DCOM) (the "Company"), the parent company of The Dime Savings Banks of Williamsburgh ("Dime"), is pleased to announce that Dime and New York Community Bank have partnered with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) to present a free seminar to help inform and empower NYC multifamily owners about available government financing, tax benefits and code violation removal. The seminar will be held Thursday, February 25th at Giando On The Water (400 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211) from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (registration begins at 8:30 a.m.).

The seminar, which will be presented by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, will focus on what City-sponsored landlord financial assistance programs are available and how they can benefit landlords of multifamily buildings. Additionally, the seminar will help inform landlords about more efficient ways to reduce outstanding HPD violations. Participating in the seminar from HPD will be Kimberly Darga, Assistant Commissioner of Preservation Finance, and Ann Marie Mierez, Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Neighborhood Preservation.
