Eagle Sponsors "Fight to End Cancer"

Professional Staffing Company Continues to Step into the Ring for Charity

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - May 26, 2017) - Eagle Professional Resources Inc. (Eagle) is proud to once again be sponsoring the Fight to End Cancer (FTEC), the annual white collar boxing event being held tomorrow at the historic Old Mill Toronto. Eagle has been supporting the black tie event since 2012. Fight to End Cancer has raised over $600,000 to date since its inception six years ago.

Each year, the Fight to End Cancer features a new group of white-collar men and women with no prior boxing experience. Participants undergo months of Olympic-style training to learn the sport and prepare for an intense evening of sweat, all in the name of raising money in the fight against cancer. The complete evening features a cocktail reception and elegant gourmet dinner, followed by a night of Las Vegas-style boxing matches by the committed white collar volunteers.

As with all successful events, the Fight to End Cancer is backed by strong leadership, including its founder and executive director, 3 Star boxing referee Jennifer Huggins. "The reality of what the Fight To End Cancer represents is bittersweet. Something that threatens to tear our lives apart has brought so many people together," commented Huggins in a recent press release by FTEC. "Six years ago, I started this event to give back to the community. The Fight To End Cancer has since become a community in itself; a family working together towards one goal. My vision evolved from being a fundraiser, to becoming a global movement that we are all part of. We are fighting for a future free of cancer, and we will succeed. Defeat Is NOT An Option!"

In addition to financial contributions, 2017 will see Eagle continue its tradition of supporting the Fight to End Cancer by sponsoring a fighter from the company. It all started in 2011, when then-CEO Kevin Dee stepped into the ring for a similar event in Ottawa. Since then, Brendhan Malone, Vice-President from Eagle's Toronto office, stepped into the ring at the 2014 FTEC and now, in 2017, Brandon Glynn, also from the Toronto office, will be carrying the torch.

"The Fight to End Cancer is perhaps one of the more innovative charitable events going today. It goes beyond asking for money in return for dinner, but participants literally give blood and commit hundreds of hours to deliver an evening of first class entertainment," said Kevin Dee, Eagle's Chairman and a former white collar boxer in a similar event. "Congratulations to Jennifer and her hardworking team for all of the success this event has generated. Cancer is one of the most devastating diseases the affects everyone we know. Their hard work combined with the fighters' commitment each year is inspiring to all of those going through a battle of their own."

Tickets to this year's Fight to End Cancer on May 27th are still available for purchase through the website at www.fighttoendcancer.com. Fight lovers can also watch it live at the Brazen Head Pub in Toronto or from the comfort of home by ordering the live stream (details also at the organization's website).
