Earthlite(R) Donates $5,000 to Aid Victims of Philippines Typhoon

VISTA, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 9, 2013) -  Earthlite, Inc. and its employees (www.earthlite.com), the #1 brand in professional massage equipment, announces a donation of $5,000 to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts in the Philippines.

In early November, Typhoon Haiyan decimated large regions of the Philippines. In its aftermath, tens of thousands were displaced, injured, and suffered tragic losses.

Earthlite has global operations on three continents, including Asia. Upon learning of the devastation, Earthlite employees, with assistance of the company, came together in support of the American Red Cross and their efforts in the Philippines, raising $5,000 through employee contributions along with corporate funds. These monies will be used to distribute relief items, repair and rebuild much-needed shelters, provide healthcare and communication systems, and ensure access to sanitation and clean water.

"The Red Cross is an obvious choice for Earthlite and its employees," explains James Chenevey, CEO of Earthlite. "We are confident that their far-reaching expertise will make a necessary difference in the lives and comfort of the many impacted." On the initiative of Earthlite's employees to donate in the aftermath of the disaster, Chenevey says he wasn't at all surprised. "We have an incredible group of community-focused people here and the company was able to supplement those funds with monies that we normally reserve for customer holiday gifts."

Earthlite is far from a stranger to humanitarian and environmental aid. In addition to providing funds to the Red Cross to aid their relief efforts in previous global disasters, Earthlite sponsors the Earthlite Response Team (ERT), a group of hand-picked massage therapists created in the aftermath of the Asian Tsunami of 2004, to offer massage to victims and relief workers. The team has been active in several other disasters, including relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina and in the devastating earthquake in China. Earthlite's other charitable efforts include support and sponsorship of several non-profit organizations including "Sustainable Harvest," "Trees for the Future," and the "Green Spa Network." "As a global company with product sold in over 100 countries worldwide, Earthlite recognizes its obligations to the global community and we are honored that our customers expect as much from us," says Chenevey.
