For years, Dr. Rowen led a highly successful practice in Maryland, ROWEN Vision & Cosmetic Center, and was the director of ophthalmology at Baltimore's Mercy Medical Center. Prior to that, Dr. Rowen completed a two-year research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital's prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute, where she also completed her surgical internship. Dr. Rowen earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the same university from which she earned her undergraduate degree, graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors. As an undergraduate, Dr. Rowen served as a research assistant for the National Institute of Health at the National Cancer Institute.
