EventBoard Partners With Current, Powered by GE, to Expand Platform Into the Internet of Things and Intelligent Buildings

Analytics Platform With In-Light Sensors Further Enhances EventBoard's Business Intelligence Solutions

SILICON SLOPES, UT--(Marketwired - Apr 26, 2016) - EventBoard, a developer of cloud-based meeting tools and analytics helping to maximize meeting productivity, today announced a partnership with Current, powered by GE, which will enhance the EventBoard platform, utilize data and user experiences through more automated interactions while also keeping buildings more energy efficient. With unproductive meetings costing companies an estimated $37 billion each year, the EventBoard platform, Current's LEDs and GE's Predix software will all work together to provide companies with even better meeting management and analytics to maximize productivity and reclaim lost revenue.

Sensors in Current's intelligent LEDs scan building spaces and send real-time insights on what conference rooms and offices are being used to EventBoard's cloud-based analytics platform, giving companies access to previously untapped insights to help optimize workspace and productivity. This integration marks EventBoard's entry into the Internet of Things (IoT) and continues its dedication to developing energy-efficient solutions.

"Partnering with Current gives EventBoard exposure to GE's IoT and intelligent buildings community, helping us continue our mission to provide companies with the tools to maximize productivity and employee happiness," said Joe Finlayson, VP of Business Development at EventBoard. "This perfectly aligns with EventBoard's vision to provide the future of business intelligence through analytics, ultimately giving companies actionable recommendations on employee productivity, required meeting room technology, and workspace use."

EventBoard's partnership revealed today has a number of key features including:

  • Intelligent Buildings: With employees no longer having to even think about checking in or out of meetings, the building intelligence platform provides even more detailed information about how offices work. Using this data as the foundation for activity-driven insights, companies can greatly improve workspace use while also removing traditional headaches employees associate with meeting rooms.
  • Sensor Activated Analytics: Sensors in LED lighting automatically scan rooms to check attendees in, but if sensors indicate that no one showed up, the EventBoard room reservation is automatically cancelled. If attendees have left a meeting earlier than scheduled, EventBoard's sensors end the meeting early -- streamlining workspace management for all employees.
  • Energy Efficient Solution: Together, EventBoard and Current are shaping the future of what intelligent buildings can do while maximizing energy efficiency with long-lasting, ultra-efficient LEDs.

"Not only does intelligent LED infrastructure have a measured impact on energy costs. Through this partnership, connected LEDs can be a gateway for better productivity in the office, optimizing workspaces and eliminating wasted time searching for available rooms," said John Gordon, Chief Digital Officer, Current, powered by GE.

EventBoard provides companies with new technologies that free up their time, allowing them to optimize workspace, and employee productivity and happiness. EventBoard's Integration with Current's microservices and GE's Predix platform streamlines analytics to EventBoard's dashboard, informing customers on how best to manage their workspace and plan any future meeting space requirements.
