Gabriella's Kitchen CEO to Deliver Keynote Address at the Upcoming Global Center for Health Innovation Event Featuring Health and Wellness Innovators

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - December 16, 2015) - Gabriella's Kitchen, a leading manufacturer of fortified and functional foods, is pleased to announce that its CEO, Margot Micallef, will be delivering a keynote address, alongside two other renowned leaders in health and wellness, at the first event in the Global Center for Health Innovation's new Voices series. The series is designed to feature innovators in healthcare, business and technology. As the creator of skinnypasta™, a healthier, all natural alternative to traditional pasta, Micallef is excited to share her presentation, Let Food Be Thy Medicine.

The Voices event is taking place on January 6, 2016, in Cleveland, Ohio, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 apiece. To learn more about the event and to register, please visit http://bit.do/GCVoices. The event will also feature Dr. Mark Hyman, the director of Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, and Congressman Tim Ryan, author of the book, The Real Food Revolution. The program for the event, named Innovations in Health & Wellness: The Food Revolution, is designed to allow attendees to hear from each innovator, to learn more about healthy eating and to discover the principles of functional medicine.

"At Gabriella's Kitchen, we believe food has tremendous healing power. We believe food nourishes passion for life, feeds the body's need for fuel and the heart's need for self-care," said Micallef. "I'm thrilled to be able to share the skinnypasta™ story at the Voices event -- and to share a delicious, nutritious skinnypasta™ meal with everyone in attendance!"

"We're thrilled Margot is joining us for Voices," said Fred DeGrandis, managing director and chief administrative officer of the Global Center for Health Innovation. "With this event, we're bringing together the voices of innovators in health and wellness to spark conversation around the impact food has on our overall health. Margot's voice and expertise on this topic are truly valued."

After Micallef's keynote address, Levy Restaurants' executive chef Matt Del Regno will join her for a skinnypasta™ SUPERFOOD Penne cooking demonstration. Attendees will learn about the health benefits of teff, an ancient grain that's naturally gluten-free and high in protein. Teff is what gives skinnypasta™ SUPERFOOD Penne its hefty nutritional punch. At the end of the presentation, attendees will receive skinnypasta™ samples and a recipe to take home.

skinnypasta™ SUPERFOOD Penne is the latest addition to the Gabriella's Kitchen product family, which includes two other lines of pastas marketed under the skinnypasta™ brand: skinnypasta™ GLUTEN FREE, a line of frozen prepared meals, and skinnypasta™ HIGH PROTEIN, a line of fresh pastas that are high in protein and low in carbs and calories. All skinnypasta™ products are non-GMO, all natural and preservative-free.

The Voices event will be held at the Global Center for Health Innovation in Cleveland on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome; tickets are $20 apiece. To learn more about the event and to register, please visit http://bit.do/GCVoices.
