Government of Canada Grants Funding to Cintech Agroalimentaire


SAINT-HYACINTHE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 21, 2012) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, today announced that Cintech Agroalimentaire has been granted financial assistance to pursue its mission and continue promoting the knowledge economy.

"The Government of Canada was unhesitating in its decision to fund Cintech Agroalimentaire, an organization that plays an important role in various regions of Quebec by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in their innovation and technology transfer projects," said Mr. Gourde.

A college technology transfer centre, Cintech Agroalimentaire is affiliated with Saint-Hyacinthe CEGEP. In accordance with its mission, the organization helps businesses capitalize on growth opportunities and contributes to the overall development and competitiveness of enterprises in the agri-food processing sector.

This $384,300 in non-repayable funding has been granted through Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program.
