Halsey Minor's Reality Lab Launches Quantum Leap VR

Groundbreaking VR System Features 16 HD Cameras for Seamless, 360-Degree, Live-Streamed VR Content

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2016) - Reality Lab, a technology driven content company focused on replacing traditional television content with immersive VR, today announced the launch of its groundbreaking Quantum Leap VR system. Quantum Leap VR enables the delivery of professional quality, live immersive video to all major virtual reality platforms. For the first time ever, the world can experience perfect, seamless, high resolution stereoscopic VR content in real-time.

The Quantum Leap VR system is a complete system comprising custom cameras, video processors, algorithms, software, network infrastructure, and streaming clients. These components allow Reality Lab to obtain levels of performance formerly considered impossible in VR video. Each Quantum Leap camera features 16 individual HD cameras that produce two 360-degree stereoscopic images (one for each eye) for each viewer. The views are perfectly stitched together in real-time, revealing none of the "seams" typically found in VR video content, despite running at 25 frames per second. The result is a flawless 4K sphere for each eye, supporting higher resolutions than any of the VR headsets available today.

An unlimited number of simultaneous users can access multiple Quantum Leap VR cameras streamed in real-time over the Internet, to wired or unwired VR headsets, anywhere a broadband connection is available. Individual users are able to instantly and dynamically switch between multiple "event" cameras, choosing their own point of view to further personalize their experience.

In addition, the Quantum Leap VR system supports Reality Lab's unique Hyper VR, which adds the ability to insert three-dimensional objects and animations into any scene, creating a hyper reality comprised of both real and computer-generated objects. To date, these features have only been shown in test and prototype systems promising "augmented reality." Hyper VR allows users to experience worlds that are "more real than real." Reality is merely the starting point upon which new, richer hyper realities can be constructed by adding objects and animations.

Reality Lab is currently in discussions with partners in the areas of music, sports, and reality related programming and will supply those partners with multiple types of cameras, software, cloud infrastructure, and the client software supporting all major VR platforms. These geographic partners will be exclusive and will be responsible for securing rights in their market. The company's first slate of partners and networks will be announced in the second quarter of 2016.

Reality Lab will be presenting demonstrations of Quantum Leap VR and Hyper Reality during CES through January 7th in Las Vegas. The demonstrations will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel and are available by appointment through Thursday.
