Idahoan(R) Sponsors Tatergeddon(R) at 2013 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Event

The Potato Throw Down Between Mashed and Baked

IDAHO FALLS, ID--(Marketwired - Dec 17, 2013) - The 2nd annual Tatergeddon®, the ultimate potato throw down with last year's winner, mashed taking on baked, will take place on Friday the 20th at 5:00PM in the Basque block in Boise, Idaho. It's the featured event at Mash Bash, part of the celebration of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

This year's Tatergeddon will be judged by Mark Schlereth, ESPN commentator and Super Bowl Champion. "We are excited to have Mark be our judge for Tatergeddon," said Karen Clark of Idahoan. "With Mark's football career start at the University of Idaho, he qualifies as an Idahoan! We will also be topping our potatoes with Schlereth's Green Chile Sauce." All proceeds from the $2 donation will benefit this year's Tatergeddon charity, Life's Kitchen in Boise.

Idahoan is the potato expert because it's grower-owned and uses 100% Idaho® Potatoes. The best tasting potatoes in the world come from Idaho, where a constant supply of pure water from mountain snow melt and loose nutrient-rich volcanic soil allow potatoes to grow with proper drainage and deliver the highest amount of solids per yield. Idaho also offers the ideal climate for growing potatoes to full maturity, delivering a full balance of flavor in each one.
