Industry PHY Veteran Siddharth Sheth Joins Inphi to Help Drive Adoption of High-Speed 100 GbE CMOS Products

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 26, 2011) - Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), a leading provider of high-speed analog semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today announced it has appointed Mr. Siddharth Sheth as Vice President of Marketing for Inphi's High-Speed Connectivity products. Mr. Sheth will oversee the marketing of Inphi's new iPHY 100G CMOS products targeted for next generation high-performance networking applications.

Mr. Sheth joins Inphi from NetLogic Microsystems, where he held responsibility for all of NetLogic's 8G Fibre Channel and 10G/40G/100G Ethernet PHY products. He led NetLogic's entry into the 40G/100G Ethernet and OTN transport markets. He was also responsible for key initiatives that allowed NetLogic to target its PHY products into the mobile backhaul market.

"We are very pleased to have Siddharth join Inphi. His proven experience and in-depth industry knowledge in PHY CMOS technologies brings tremendous value to Inphi's marketing efforts of its high-speed connectivity products," said Mr. Young Sohn, President and CEO.

"With a strong history of engineering execution and an industry leading portfolio of high-performance networking and computing products, Inphi is in a very good position to lead the industry transition to 100 GbE," said Mr. Sheth. "I am very excited to be part of a deeply talented team that has a solid track record of delivering best-in-class products and look forward to leading Inphi's business efforts in the 100 GbE connectivity market."

Inphi's iPHY 100 GbE CMOS SerDes Architecture
In March, Inphi announced its strategic entry into the SerDes market with the introduction of the iPHY 100 GbE CMOS SerDes architecture (see recent announcement). The iPHY architecture offers comprehensive solutions for physical layer integrated circuits inside the transceiver module and on the line card to enable next generation 100 GbE systems to achieve more than 2X reduction in transceiver power consumption and 10X increase in port density. Inphi has been working closely with leading networking OEMs and ecosystem partners to develop the iPHY architecture to help accelerate the mass transition from 10 GbE to 100 GbE in data center and communications infrastructures.

Siddharth Sheth Biography
Prior to NetLogic as mentioned earlier, in 2001, Mr. Sheth was a member of the core team that formed Aeluros, a mixed-signal IC company. Aeluros focused on 10 Gbps CMOS ICs for the Ethernet datacenter/enterprise and infrastructure markets. Mr. Sheth led worldwide marketing for Aeluros' PHY products and grew their business globally till the company was acquired by NetLogic in 2007. Earlier at Aeluros, he was also part of the core engineering team that built the world's first sub-watt 10 GbE CMOS PHY. Prior to Aeluros, Mr. Sheth spent four years at Intel Corp., where he held engineering design and management positions in the Pentium III microprocessor group.

He is a member of the IEEE standards association, is a published author at ISSCC and other technical conferences and has an M.S.E.E. from Purdue University.
