Kepler Group Completes Integration of Acquired Database Provider 43Bytes to Enhance Data-Based Marketing Capabilities

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - August 07, 2014) - Kepler Group, the independent digital and database services company founded in 2012 by marketing and ad-tech veterans, announced that it has completed integration of database platform 43Bytes -- acquired from tech provider Stackpop in May.

With the integration, Kepler has enhanced its ability to deliver the full suite of managed database, decisioning and campaign services that clients require to effectively achieve cross-channel marketing impact.

"We launched Kepler in response to the fact that the vast majority of agencies and other service providers were insufficiently using big data and the modern ad tech toolkit to deliver value for their clients," says Rick Greenberg, Kepler's CEO. "We knew from the beginning that we'd need the capacity to process billions of rows of data per day and that Jason and the Stackpop team were among the best in the business. That's why, within months of our start, we initiated efforts with Stackpop to design the 43Bytes platform that we've now fully acquired."

The proprietary system, called the Kepler Intelligence Platform℠, already houses data for over a dozen Kepler clients -- and utilizes Hadoop- and SQL-based solutions to provide customized prospect and customer data warehouses for large-scale marketers. Its open architecture integrates with data management platforms (DMPs), demand side advertising platforms (DSPs), email service providers, site optimization systems, point of sale systems, and sales management tools.

Kepler's team of econometrics, statistics and modeling experts mine these integrated data sets to create clients' proprietary targeting algorithms and decision rules -- which are then deployed by the firm's optimization teams to deliver connected campaigns across channels.

"We purpose-built 43Bytes to meet the unique challenges posed by big data marketing," says Jason Evans, Stackpop's founding CEO. "Kepler is doing some of the most advanced work in the field, so it made perfect sense for them to acquire the platform and gain more control and flexibility to customize it for individual clients."
