mytruestory.com Provides Link Between Filmmakers and Those With Compelling True Stories

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 30, 2013) - A unique way for individuals to get real-life stories in front of the Hollywood filmmakers who can turn those stories into feature films, mytruestory.com is currently accepting submissions from those with stories they feel are film-worthy. The brainchild of film producer and former studio executive Polly Johnsen, whose credits include the first four "Harry Potter" films and "Slumdog Millionaire," mytruestory.com will provide exposure within the film community for evocative content based on genuine life experience, reaching those Hollywood studios, executives, producers, directors, writers, agents and actors, that can bring a story to the big screen.

mytruestory.com has already placed its first project in active feature film development. "How Starbucks Saved My Life" is Michael Gates Gill's memoir that chronicles his journey from high-level ad exec to Starbucks barista.

"As a filmmaker, I know that some of the best content is based on real-life experience," said Johnsen, president of mytruestory.com and Polymorphic Pictures. "Most true stories go unnoticed because the people involved cannot access filmmakers. At mytruestory.com, we are providing that important connection. If you have a true story that you feel could become the basis of a thrilling, funny, tragic, inspiring or insightful movie, mytruestory.com can provide the exposure needed to make that true story a big screen reality."

At mytruestory.com, users will find all the tools needed to market their true story to the film community, including complete instructions for submitting content, including photos, video, audio and written materials of 1,000 words or less. The team at mytruestory.com will evaluate each submission, and if selected for publication on the site, the story will be exposed to thousands of film and television executives who are potential partners for each project. Subjects of each story always retain their own life rights.
