Omni-ID Names Chief Operating Officer; Cites Growth

ROCHESTER, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 24, 2014) - Omni-ID, the world's most innovative supplier of RFID tags and visual-tagging systems for industrial applications, has announced that it has promoted Tony Kington to the position of Chief Operating Officer in order to better support its growing base of global business.

"I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Tony Kington to Chief Operating Officer of Omni-ID," said George E. Daddis, Jr. PhD, CEO of Omni-ID. "Over the past few years, Omni-ID has experienced a significant increase in demand for our products -- Tony is the ideal person to lead our product delivery process from start to finish. As one of the first employees of the company, and a key member of the leadership team, Tony has a great breadth of expertise in many aspects of the business. He has made significant contributions to Omni-ID's operational processes setting the groundwork for future growth."

With an already impressive resume of executive leadership in the nuclear, print, chemical and technology industries, Dr. Kington joined QinetiQ, Ltd. in 2004 to direct the initial development of the company's RFID efforts -- which ultimately led to the formation of Omni-ID. Since its inception, Tony has successfully led teams in the engineering, manufacturing, sales and customer services.

"I've always been highly enthusiastic about the options that RFID technologies can provide for increased process efficiency and asset visibility -- what's even more inspiring is seeing the broader market acceptance and growth in industrial application, outside of retail," said Dr. Tony Kington, Omni-ID's Chief Operating Officer. "I'm thrilled to be on the front lines of this revolution. Our business continues to grow at an exponential pace -- as a matter of fact, more than double the rate annually than the overall industrial RFID industry is growing*. It is critically important that we also continue to align our product development processes and delivery mechanisms to support that growth."

Tony will have overall responsibility for the global engineering teams, Omni-ID's wholly owned manufacturing facility, customer services and delivery teams. This is the second appointment that the company has made to its senior management team in the past 12 months; telecom and technology industry veteran James G. Dole was named Chief Financial Officer earlier this year.

* Ram Ravi, Senior Research Analyst for Auto-Identification and Data Capture at Frost and Sullivan estimates the passive and active industrial RFID market (excluding retail) to be growing at a rate of 20-25% through 2020. For more information and research please visit www.frost.com.
