Playworld Joins P21 to Support 21st Century Learning

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Sep 21, 2015) -  Playworld, a leading playground equipment manufacturer committed to saving outdoor unstructured play, has joined P21, the nation's leader advocating for 21st Century learning for all children. By becoming a P21 member, Playworld joins P21's diverse coalition of business community, education leaders and policymakers working together to prepare learners along the entire continuum of learning.

Playworld's Chief Marketing Officer Greg Harrison will represent the company on P21's strategic council and contribute to P21's ongoing work in ensuring high quality learning happens on the playground as well as in the classroom. "Play and education go hand-in-hand," said Harrison. "Play helps shape our brains and research shows that the skills associated with play lead to students receiving better grades. We're eager to work with P21 and contribute to the organization's effort to help children thrive in the 21st Century."

"Playworld is a most welcome partner as we start to rethink 21st Century learning beyond the classroom," said Liz Fogel, director of education for the Walt Disney Company, and incoming P21 board chair.

Playworld will work with P21 members, partners, and states to connect early learning opportunities to school and life readiness as well as high quality learning in beyond school environments.
