Security and Industry Trailblazers Debate the Hottest Topics in Security at Versus 16

New York Times Best-Selling Author, Dan Ariely, a Featured Keynote Speaker for Inaugural Security Conference November 17 in San Francisco

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - October 12, 2016) - Vera (vera.com), today announced the company will host its inaugural security conference, Versus 16, along with founding partner, Illumio, and participating trailblazers, Okta, Dropbox, Skyhigh, and Menlo Security, on November 17, 2016 at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco. Versus will be a first-of-its-kind security event where attendees will gain insight to actionable content, redefine the how's, what's and why's about security, and sharpen their team's ability to shift the security status quo. Bringing together crypto experts, industry leaders and security visionaries, Versus will be an immersive event focused on "Challenging What You Know" about security, technology and doing business in today's highly collaborative, digital world.

This unique one-day summit will feature short, powerful 15-minute TED-like presentations and fierce debates on 2016's hottest topics in security and technology. The event, comprised of lightening-round discussions, head-to-head battles and live entertainment, will focus on critical issues facing businesses today, including encryption backdoors, security vs. collaboration, hackers vs. insider threats, and more. If you're ready to take part in thought-provoking conversations, learn about the cutting edge of security, and make unexpected connections, then register for Versus today at http://www.versus16.com.

Leading the opening keynote is three-time New York Times best-selling author and Duke University professor of psychology and behavioral economics, Dan Ariely, who will share insights from his book Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions. Named one of the 50 most influential thinkers in the world by Bloomberg, Dan challenges the basic assumptions of our economic system and explores the powerful tricks that our minds play on us and showing that actually, we humans are far from rational. Staying true to the event's theme, Dan will kick off Versus with a mind-blowing keynote on his radical approach to understanding human behavior, as explored in his new book Payoff: The Hidden Logic That Shapes Our Motivation, due to release November 15th.

"With over 1000 cybersecurity vendors, all offering their own version of nirvana, the big security and technology conferences have become all about pitching products and preaching to the choir," said Robin Daniels, Chief Marketing Officer at Vera. "With Versus, we've decided to make an event unlike any other you've ever experienced because we need to challenge the status quo of security to generate new thinking. With short, insightful, personal TED-style talks, and debates with strong point of view, we hope to educate, enlighten, and entertain."
