Terrestrial Energy Announces Appointment of Former EPA Administrator to International Advisory Board

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwired - June 11, 2015) - Terrestrial Energy announces that it has appointed Christine Todd Whitman to its International Advisory Board. Ms. Whitman served as Administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency from January of 2001 until June of 2003 and was also the 50th Governor of the State of New Jersey, serving from 1994 until 2001. Ms. Whitman's extensive experience in energy and environmental issues will provide substantial benefits to Terrestrial Energy as it continues to advance its Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) project.

Ms. Whitman has been one of the foremost advocates for environmental protection for many decades, as well as a leading voice for the use of nuclear power to decarbonize the world's energy supply. Ms. Whitman co-chairs the Clean and Safe Energy Coalition (CASEnergy), which has a membership in excess of 3,900, including Terrestrial Energy. The coalition's objective is to support the use of nuclear energy to ensure an affordable, environmentally-clean, reliable and safe supply of electricity.

Ms. Whitman made the following comments regarding her appointment: "I am pleased to lend my support and counsel to Terrestrial Energy. Their IMSR technology has numerous advantages including its small modular design, reduced cost, increased safety, and small waste footprint. I believe small modular reactors can be a critical component in the global efforts to reduce air pollution and combat climate change."
