The exclusive Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel & Country Club's namesake suite recently underwent an extensive £375,000 upgrade. Retaining all the traditional period features expected from a historic building and incorporating uniquely Scottish and modern design touches, the end result is a sophisticated, but welcoming, wedding venue for up to 300 guests, ideally located just seven miles from Edinburgh's city centre.

Part of a stunning former baronial manor, set in 1,000 acres, the versatile function room already hosts a number of weddings each year -- catering for both civil ceremonies, as well as religious ceremonies at the onsite church.

A team of builders and designers spent four weeks creating a more elegant, airy space, before undertaking a complete cosmetic overhaul including new décor and lighting.

The improvements are part of a multi-million pound refurbishment of the Country Club, which began in 2012 and also included the revamp of seven period feature rooms that were completed in 2013.
