Trailcon Leasing Kicks Off September by Celebrating Its Newest Location in Surrey, British Columbia

Cross-Canada Expansion Continues Full Speed Ahead

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 7, 2016) - Editors note: There is one photo accompanying this press release.

The new Trailcon signs are up at the former Stewart Trailers site in Surrey, British Columbia, marking the beginning of a new era in trailer leasing and servicing on Canada's west coast.

Trailcon Leasing Inc. (Trailcon) is a Canadian leader in trailer rental, leasing, and service, as well as dedicated fleet maintenance. In July, the company announced the acquisition of Stewart Trailers, one of the largest welding, mobile service, and trailer repair facilities in the Greater Vancouver Area. For 56 years, and with Randy Drake at the helm for 35 of those, Stewart has maintained its reputation for consistent and reliable service to the trucking industry.

On September 1, Stewart Trailers began operating as Trailcon Leasing Inc., the final step in a transition process that has kept everyone from head office to Vancouver buzzing since the announcement. Trailcon's founder and President Alan Boughton says it's an exciting time for the two companies, their customers, and him personally.

"Adding more talented people to our team, along with an impressive facility in an accessible location, strengthens our operation in western Canada in such a concrete way. I couldn't be happier about continuing our expansion because it means we are serving more and more customers at the highest level."

Trailcon's latest location, at 17276 104A Avenue, is adjacent to the South Fraser Perimeter Road, just north of the Trans-Canada Highway. With new signage, re-branded trucks, and a few upgrades, it makes an impressive home base for Trailcon's B.C. operation.

Trailcon's Vancouver Branch Manager, Brian Jones, led the team responsible for bringing the Stewart Trailers operation into the Trailcon family. On August 31, Trailcon hosted a BBQ to recognize those who played a part in each company's success over the years. Drake and Boughton, along with Darryl Hartman, Trailcon's Vice President, Finance & Administration, celebrated with everyone from staff, to mobile and in-house technicians, to Drake's family and friends.

Prior to the BBQ, the ownership was ceremoniously transferred from Stewart Trailers to Trailcon in a meeting between Boughton and Drake. Drake will continue to work with Trailcon's Vancouver team through the transition and beyond as Operations Manager. He says he is certain that Trailcon will continue to look after his employees and customers.

"I know I made the right decision. This is a quality company that's taken over my business and the integration has been smooth and seamless. I see a team of good people with a solid reputation, and their national reach makes for an exciting future. The legacy of Stewart Trailers is in good hands and will continue to flourish."

Expansion in B.C. has also allowed the Trailcon team to grow - a new maintenance manager and a lease and rental coordinator are already on board, and the company plans to expand its call centre to meet the increasing needs of west coast customers.

Trailcon owns a fleet of more than 7,000 units servicing many of Canada's largest for-hire carriers, private fleets, and major grocery and retail chains. With 100 licensed trailer technicians, its mobile repair fleet is the largest in the country, and the company services more than 10,000 customer-owned units across Canada.

In 2015, Trailcon moved to a new 75,000-square-foot facility in Brampton, Ontario. It has 15 Ontario Ministry of Transportation licensed stations in the Greater Toronto Area, and branches in Cornwall, Ontario; Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta; and now in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
