Verifi Expands Executive Team to Oversee Global Issuer Partnerships

James Byler Appointed to Vice President Global Issuer Sales & Partnerships at Verifi, Inc.

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 11, 2015) - Verifi, Inc., the leading provider of payment and risk management solutions for card-not-present merchants, today announced the appointment of James Byler to vice president global issuer sales and partnerships. In his new role, he will work with issuers to promote the benefits and return on investment the issuers will experience with Verifi's Cardholder Dispute Resolution Network (CDRN).

"As a seasoned executive with more than 15 years of experience in the payment, technology and financial industries, Byler brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role at Verifi," said Tony Wootton, Chief Revenue Officer of Verifi, Inc. "A number of the top 20 issuers already participate in Verifi's CDRN, enabling Byler to capitalize on our established success and help extend our global reach by fostering new partnerships both inside and outside of the U.S. market."

Holding senior management positions with six successful start-ups, Byler brings a mix of leadership experience from various management, sales, business development, global operations and finance roles. He has worked internationally in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, Canada and the U.S.

"Chargebacks are a significant problem for merchants but issuers bear the consequences too, especially when customers bypass the merchant and go directly to the issuer to resolve a dispute," said Byler. "When this occurs, it costs the issuer time, efficiency and money, not to mention arbitration cases that can be very expensive. This problem is only going to get worse for issuers and I'm excited to embark on a new chapter in my career with Verifi to help lower operating expenses, reduce cycle time for chargeback disputes and provide a superior customer experience."

Prior to joining Verifi, Blyer founded Linkpay, a cloud omni-channel payment platform. Before Linkpay, he headed the North American division of Ogone, a Belgium-based global payment service company acquired by Ingenico in 2013.

Previously, he headed the Global Payment Division of Retail Decisions, a leading fraud prevention company. Additionally, Byler held the title of CEO and Chairman of LinQpay, a leading mobile payment company in South Africa with Joint Ventures in China and India that was acquired by Stakook in 2010. He held the board advisor position with International Payment Solutions (IPS), a leading Chinese payment company, and also founded and was CEO of Devinix, a global payment service company. Byler also served as U.S. country manager for Bibit, a Dutch global payment service company acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
