FOLSOM, CA--(Marketwired - July 07, 2015) - Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading provider of technology solutions that drive enterprise performance, today announced the winners of its 2015 Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) program. As in past years, the program offers multiple scholarships of up to $2,500 per recipient to women pursuing a career in computer science, information technology (IT), management information systems, computer engineering, or another related field.
Beginning in only a few select cities, WITS has spread nationwide, attracting more than 275 applicants to this year's competition. VIP will award $18,000 to 10 recipients for the 2015-16 academic year.
"We received an astonishing number of applications for this year's WITS program," said Jonna Ward, CEO of VIP. "It's encouraging to see so many promising young women pursuing higher education and seeking a job in the IT field."
Award winners were chosen based on academic performance, involvement in the community and extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership experience, and essay responses. This year's scholarship recipients are:
