March 26, 2016, was a day to remember for Shannon Chisholm, Miss Wheelchair North Carolina 2015. Five years after sustaining an injury as a result of a car accident, which left her partially paralyzed and reliant on a wheelchair for daily ambulation, Shannon was able to walk and dance thanks to the assistance of Keeogo™. This remarkable trial was carried out by a B-TEMIA partner, Able Bionics, a rehabilitation clinic based in London, Ontario.

Julia's Inspirational Story

Julia, a student at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, sustained a stroke in January 2013 which affected her mobility on the left side of her body resulting in limitations to daily activities. She relies on a walker or cane to get from place to place and climbing stairs and walking long distances are extremely difficult tasks.

Thanks to B-TEMIA's Early Adopter Program, Julia was able to obtain her own Keeogo™. Wearing the device has afforded Julia significant independence in her daily life and enables her to do things like dance with her friends, climb stairs, work in a laboratory, and do without her walker or cane.
