Widen Announces Integration With Sitecore

With the Widen Media Collective Synced to the Sitecore(R) Experience Platform(TM), Marketers Can Now Implement a Create Once, Publish Everywhere Workflow

MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - April 27, 2016) - Widen, a leading provider of digital asset management (DAM) software, announced that the company has integrated with Sitecore, the global leader in experience management software. Ascedia, an integrated marketing agency and Sitecore-certified implementation partner, facilitated the integration. Brands can now run a Create Once, Publish Everywhere (COPE) strategy powered by the Media Collective and the Sitecore Experience Platform.

The Widen-Sitecore integration was created for marketers who want to combine the capabilities of a DAM system with a content management system (CMS). Whereas the Media Collective enables marketers to plan, produce, promote, and re-purpose content effectively, the Sitecore Experience Platform helps them deliver that content across channels with a high degree of personalization and automation. Thus, the integration bridges content production and content delivery workflows.

Dubbed the Sitecore Connector, the integration ensures that Sitecore publishes master files stored in the Media Collective. Marketers simply assign assets to an asset group to sync them with Sitecore's Media Library. They can then insert Media Collective embed codes when publishing content with Sitecore. If marketers update assets in the Media Collective (e.g., introduce a new logo), the embed codes automatically update that content wherever the asset appears on the web. Thus, the Connector automates tedious jobs and preserves brand consistency.

"Ascedia's clients have realized tremendous efficiencies by extending Widen's already-powerful DAM capabilities into their Sitecore environments," said Brent Kaufman, Director of Client Strategy at Ascedia. "We're excited to support Widen's Sitecore Connector and the value it brings to world-class marketers."

In addition to increasing efficiency, the Sitecore Connector provides several other benefits. When assets are synced to Sitecore Media Library, the Connector uses automated overwrite protection to ensure that web visitors always see the most current version of an asset. When marketers use embed codes, Insights in the Media Collective can collect asset data and provide analytics on reach, geolocation, views, downloads, social shares, average video plays, and more.

"Widen provides customers with a cloud-based digital asset management solution that fully complements the Sitecore Experience Platform," said Griffin Pickard, Senior Manager, Partner Development, at Sitecore. "We are very excited to add Widen as a silver partner into our Technology Partner Program."

"The integration makes Widen your central hub for all marketing and creative content while Sitecore serves as a CMS and complete digital experience provider for your customers and visitors," said Deanna Ballew, Director of Product Management at Widen. "The two technologies support each other, and the integration eliminates the hassles of working with two disconnected systems."
