MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - Jun 25, 2014) - Widen Enterprises, a leading provider of digital asset management (DAM) software, launched new content distribution and collaboration features with version 7.2 of the Widen Media Collective. The latest version of Widen's flagship DAM system will make it even easier for creative and marketing teams to manage complex projects, distribute content and track engagement across the Internet.
New share links and dynamic embedding tools in version 7.2 of the Media Collective give marketers greater visibility with content creation and distribution strategies. With images and PDFs, marketers will be able to analyze engagement down to the number of views, web locations, referring URLs and geolocation of viewers. Likewise with videos, the Media Collective will track the number of plays, average watch time, completed plays and more. This will help marketers measure the impact of their digital assets and collect feedback that guides future campaigns.
To make these tracking and analytics capabilities possible, Widen has introduced two key features:
Dynamic Links and Embed Codes for Images and PDFs
Widen's new dynamic image server can serve any image size, cropped or padded, at the time a page loads. Users can create their own dynamic image links, define image dimensions and control parameters around retina quality, SSL and image quality. Each link is traceable to the creator, and links can be used across emails, blogs and social media. Engagement with dynamic image links can be tracked and analyzed. Links and embed codes for PDFs allow users to review a multi-page preview on any mobile device.
Video Links and Embed Codes, Streams and Posters with JWPlayer
Videos can be quickly resized and tracked across channels using video links and embed codes. Embedded videos are served by Amazon's content delivery network, ensuring optimal playback performance globally and with high traffic. The JWPlayer that is included with video links and embed codes automatically switches between HTML5 and Flash players for ease of use across all devices and browsers.
In addition to improvements in content distribution, Widen has also introduced several partnerships that make creative workflows, approval processes and project management faster:
1. Silicon Publishing InDesign Plugin
Drag and drop images from the Media Collective into Adobe InDesign layouts, creating a link from InDesign to the Media Collective. If edits are made to the image in the Media Collective, the changes are automatically reflected in InDesign.
2. Review and Approval Workflows with the ProofHQ Integration
Collaborate more efficiently with a defined review and approval process. Approved assets are automatically uploaded to the Media Collective and can be distributed immediately by sales and marketing teams.
3. Manage Projects with the AtTask Integration
Provide a single hub for project and asset collaboration. Assets are interlinked throughout the duration of a project, which saves users from switching between systems and taking extra steps to find and bring digital assets into the work management process.

"With each update to the Media Collective, we combine customer feedback with the latest trends in marketing technology to help our users stay ahead of the content curve," said Matthew Gonnering, CEO of Widen Enterprises. "The theme in this particular release is visibility. We want customers to see what their digital assets are doing across the web, and we want them to have even greater oversight in their creative workflows and projects. We're excited to share the result."
